The village of Grandes-Piles is considered one of Québec's most beautiful communities. In Mauricie, Grandes-Piles is known as the cradle of log driving. Our ancestral house, built at the turn  of the  century,  housed the first village bank. Near the heart of the village  the house is situated in one of the most beautiful area  facing the federal pier, close to the city park, offering a splendid  view of the majestic St-Maurice river.

Our three bedrooms garantee confort and privacy. You are invited to relax in the veranda, listening to the music of  birds while your eyes feast on the river and mountains landscape. In the evening sit around the wood stove and warm  your heart to new friends while enjoying conversation.

Our bedrooms have been named in memory  of those  forgotten or anonymous  mothers, sisters and spouses of  pioneers.

Our house sits on a large lot with facilities for outdoor relaxation,  fire place, BBQ grill, picnic tables and a splendid view of the river. You may also choose to use our canoe to drift gently on the calm waters of the river.

In the village or near-by  many types of activities can be enjoyed: " Village du Bûcheron " a lively forestry museum dedicated to the history of our region's pioneers, a documented cruise on the St-Maurice river, cross country trails, horse-back riding and more. A few kilometers away we offer " Mauricie National Park " one of the most beautiful in Canada, " La Cité de l'Énergie " presenting a multimedia and holographic show unique in Québec, sugar shacks, a buffalo farm and many more worthwhile fun activities!

Life flows gently in our small serene village according to the rythm of the river.

Summing up, " La Mauricie " is a very diversified region where all is possible from cross-country hiking to adventure tourism.
